A warm coat, a snack, a listening ear--our Outreach team provides these and more to kids on the streets of St. Louis. Staff and volunteers patrol neighborhoods in a CHMO van trying to build rapport with young people who often trust no one. They find kids on the street--sometimes sleeping in abandoned cars or buildings--and offer them alternatives to life on the streets.

The Outreach team also responds to Covenant House Nineline calls from kids in crisis needing immediate assistance. The Nineline is a toll-free number (1-800-999-9999) answered by trained counselors that can help kids in trouble 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Covenant House Missouri's Mobile Street Outreach worked with over 1,700 youth in the St. Louis area in Fiscal Year 2007.
